If you don't get injured you're not trying hard enough..... WRONG........
Injuries happen, there's no getting away from it.
You can use a few simple strategies to try to avoid injuries, but as much as we like to claim "We are the machines" we are not machines and most of us will get injured at sometime.
Warming up is essential to get your body ready to work. If you're unsure about how to warm up properly ask your coach.....
Mobilise / Stretch
We have a separate mobility class once a week, which we encourage everyone to do. This isn't enough and people should take away stretches and movements learnt and use them throughout the week.
Use good form
This in my opinion is most important. At my gym when we do 1RM testing it is always with the caveat that the lift must be completed with good technique.
Don't "Miss Lifts" or "Go to failure"
Missing Lifts teaches you how to fail...... Stop before failure you teach yourself what good lifts feel like and reduce the chances of injury.
